Sessions will take place on

  • Mondays 10am -12 noon, led by Liz
  • Thursdays 1pm - 3pm, led by Sue

If you are able to be on the premises at both / either sessions (not necessarily every week), please contact Sue with details so rotas can be prepared.

Dundee Food Bank

Liz Kay wishes to pass on thanks to all who make donations to this still vital work.

Persecuted Christians Prayer Group

Broughty Ferry Churches Group are establishing a forum where those concerned for Christians facing persecution and oppression may gather to raise awareness, share news and pray for brothers and sisters in Christ living in more than 60 countries world-wide. The Group - open to all - will meet at 12 noon on the third Thursday of each month in St Mary's Episcopal Church, Queen Street, Broughty Ferry, for a short act of worship and guided prayer, followed by fellowship over a picnic lunch (bring your own food). The first gathering will be this Thursday at 12 noon -all are welcome.

Coffee Morning for the Clothes Bank

In association with Dundee City Council, we will host a coffee morning in the Church on Saturday, 3rd December 10am - 12noon. If you (or someone you know) would like a table for sale or display purposes please let us know. Offers of help for the day or with baking will be much appreciated; please contact Petra or Nick.

Bible Reading Notes

Fresh from the Word 2017 bible reading notes are now available.

  • Books cost around £10 - depends on the numbers for postage.
  • Digital copies for Kindle can be bought through Amazon only.
  • Other digital formats can be ordered for £7.20 from shop.christianeducation.org.uk.

If you wish to order a book, please sign the list on the table at the top of the stairs, or let Margaret know by email or otherwise.

Advent and Christmas Plans

  • an Advent Liturgy will form part of worship on and after Sunday 27th November - Sue Commander will be grateful to hear from anyone willing to assist with leading this;
  • the Christmas Tree will be erected and decorated on the morning of Saturday 10th December - volunteers welcome, refreshments available;
  • the Link Club Party and Service will take place on Tuesday 13th December (with setting-up the day before), followed by the usual break to early January;
  • on Sunday 18th December there will be All-Age worship, with a pattern of carols and readings;
  • there will be public worship in Marketgait on Sunday 25th December at 10.30am, (NB time!); an invitation to join our friends in Meadowside St Paul's on Sunday 1st January has been accepted by the Rev Nick Baker on our behalf.

Scottish Bible Society

Our support via the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in November for work in Peru.

Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to

  • visit to Scotland by the General Secretary of the Bible Society in Malawi, Clapperton Mayuni;
  • See, Hear and Experience God project of the Suriname Bible Society;
  • work of the Bible Society of Ethiopia with children and young people;
  • seminars run in local communities by the Bible Society of Spain and local churches;
  • subsidised provision to churches and other organisations by the Bible Society in Egypt of New Testaments and Scripture selections.

Friday, 25th November, 11.30am St Paul's Cathedral, High Street, Dundee Service for 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence, organised by the Mothers' Union of the Scottish Episcopal Church, to focus attention on the call to work to end all forms of violence against women and girls.
A warm invitation is given to all to this Service and to support the 16 Days thereafter.
