Cumbria 2015 Flood Appeal

The total raised so far through a Retiring Offering is £58.00. Further contributions may be made through the Retiring Offering plate by the door or to the Church Treasurer.

Ministry of Flowers

Today marks the last Sunday on which the flowers donated for display in Marketgait will have been obtained and arranged by Tom Roberts. We all express our warm gratitude to Tom, who also supported his late wife Florence in this ministry, for this contribution to our worship and pastoral life over many years.

Elaine will continue to compile the rota and should be contacted by anyone wishing to have their name placed on the list. Those wishing to donate flowers but feeling unable for any reason to undertake the purchase and arranging of flowers in person, are invited to contact Sue Marshall-Jennings who is coordinating the group of people who have offered to see to this on behalf of others.

Ministry in the Circuit

After long and careful consideration, the Rev John Butterfield has offered for and been accepted as a presbyter (Minister) in the Church of Scotland; after a short period of “probation”, he expects to become a Parish Minister in Scotland.

This means that he will cease to act as a stationed Methodist Minster on our Plan at the end of the current Quarter (ie from the beginning of March).

We assure John and his wife Caroline of the support and prayers of Dundee Methodists at this time of transition and change, and into the future.

We also extend the assurance of our support to Circuit and District colleagues as they take up his responsibilities in various spheres of church life.

Signpost International Greetings

A Christmas card has been received from Christian Paul Calero who lives in the Philippines. He is “our” connection with the new village that we sponsor through Signpost International. The card contains this message:
