Next Sunday 14 September 2014

- Worship led by Mr Keith Pearson
We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.
Scottish Referendum
Action of Churches Together in Scotland (ACTS) has produced
material to help reflection and discussion throughout the
Referendum campaign, together with prayers and liturgical
material for the period leading up to and following Referendum
Day (Thursday 18th September) and the outcome of voting.
Circuit Preaching Plan
The Plan for September - November has been distributed electronically and printed copies allocated to those who had so indicated. Please contact David Easson if you wish your name added to either list or if more printed copies are required for the vestibule table.
Dundee Methodists and Food Banks
We support the Dundee Foodbank by bringing in any of the suggested items from the Shopping List (on the table on the upstairs landing) and placing them in the large blue Bucket provided nearby. An explanatory slip is also available. There is also need for plastic carrier bags of suitable size; please place any spares by the Bucket. Monetary donations are also welcome. Contact Liz Kay for further information.
EMU: Faith in Action
The Scottish Episcopal, Methodist and United Reformed Churches (EMU) jointly support the guide produced by the SEC, as part of our commitment to working together.
It includes prayer suggestions and action ideas on a monthly theme. See www.scotland.anglican.org.
The topic for September is “racial justice” with the prayer:
“Our heavenly Father, you made us in your own image and likeness.
Help us to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
You sent your only Son to show us how to live.
Teach us to love like him, loving and caring for everyone.
Help us to remember that we are all members of the same human
family, your family.
Help us to remember that we all experience
grief, hunger, pain, joy and happiness in the same way
whatever our creed, the colour of our skin, or status in life.
Help us not to judge and be prejudiced but to be compassionate and kind.
Loving Father in your mercy, hear our prayer, Amen”
