Superintendent Minister from September 2015
The Circuit Invitation Team are pleased to advise that an
invitation to serve as Superintendent Minister in this
Circuit has been issued to and accepted by the Rev Nicholas
Baker. Nick is currently stationed with pastoral charge
of the Guiseley and Yeadon churches in the Wharfedale
and Aireborough Circuit of the Leeds District.
We look forward to welcoming Nick, his wife Petra,
and all their family to Tayside in due course.
Worship next Sunday
At the request of David Cowling, who has an unexpected
family commitment in Pitlochry next weekend, Keith Pearson
is to lead worship in Marketgait next Sunday and David
is to take the service in Blairgowrie. It has been agreed,
after consultation, that to fit in with Keith's already
advanced preparations; our worship will not now take
the form of a Café Service. There will not
therefore be any need for a “setting out”
session on Saturday.
Preaching Plan
The Plan
of Preachers appointed to lead worship for
the quarter December 2014 - February 2015 has been distributed
electronically and there are several print copies on the
vestibule table as ordered and for general uplift.
If you wish your name added to the email or printed lists, please let David Easson know.
UNICEF Jars of Grace
£176.42 (plus Gift Aid) has so far been collected through the Jars for this year's Appeal.
Dundee Methodists and Food Banks
We support the Dundee Foodbank by bringing in any of the suggested items from the Shopping List (on the table on the upstairs landing) and placing them in the large blue Bucket provided nearby. An explanatory slip is also available. There is also need for plastic carrier bags of suitable size; please place any spares by the Bucket. Monetary donations are also welcome. Contact Liz Kay for further information.
ACTS Advent material
The devotional material prepared each year on behalf of ACTS
(Action of Churches Together in Scotland) is now available for
download from the
ACTS website,
under the title “The Advent Mix”. The material has
been prepared this year by the Rev Gordon Jamieson, a former
Minister of Barnhill St Margaret's Church of Scotland
and a good friend to Ferry Methodists in the Broughty Ferry
Churches Group.
Meetings this week
Support other Organisations
Scottish Bible Society
Our support via the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in November for work in Romania.
Our prayerful attention this week is drawn to
- financial constraints on projects in Portugal for diversification of Scriptures, biblical animations, and work with young people and the elderly;
- resourcing and support for work with young people in Poland;
- Bibleworld team plans for visits in 2015.
Copies of the SBS magazine “Alive and Active” are on the vestibule table. If you wish to receive a copy regularly, please let Jenny Easson know.

world's poorest communities to become all they can”.We are invited
to “offer the gift of life and joy this Christmas with our
nativity themed gifts.”
Sightsavers
All UK donations made to Sightsavers until the end of December
will be matched pound for pound by the
UK government.
