Thanks are expressed to all who supported this which raised the

Sue's Abseil Adventure
Sue Marshall-Jennings is to do an “SAS-style Abseil”
off the Forth Rail Bridge today in aid of
Alzheimers Scotland.
She will be grateful for any sponsorship - donations
via
Just Giving or handed to her in person.
If you are trying to visualise this, Sue is to descend for
165 feet from the South Queensferry “approach” to
'The Bridge Proper' (ie NOT dangling from the cantilever
girdlers)
Christian Aid Week
The week officially ran until yesterday. If you still wish to
contribute via an envelope, and have not received one through your
door, please take one from the table at the top of the stairs.
Filled envelopes, gift-aided if possible, obtained from any
source, may be returned via the collection plate over the next
month.
Dundee Methodists and Food Banks
We support the Dundee Foodbank by bringing in any of the
suggested items from the
Shopping List (on the table on the
upstairs landing) and placing them in the large blue Bucket
provided nearby. An explanatory slip is also available.
There is also need for plastic carrier bags of suitable size;
please place any spares by the Bucket. Monetary donations
are also welcome. Contact Liz Kay for further information.
Link Club: Enable 60th Birthday Celebrations
Last Tuesday afternoon, the Link Club hosted a very successful
“Tartan Tea Party”; the Table decoration of silk
flowers and Enable Tartan scarves is on display today at the
foot of the Lectern. The Club will be represented by two of
its Volunteers at a Parliamentary Event for Enable Scotland
in Holyrood on Wednesday.
Preaching Plans
The Plan for June - August has been distributed electronically
to those on the list and some printed copies are on the glass
Vestibule table. Please contact Jenny or David Easson for
inclusion on the electronic system or for further printed
copies.
“A Life More Ordinary”
ENABLE Scotland has joined with Radio Scotland to produce a
series of 4 programmes telling the story of an ENABLE member's
life, focussing on the thread of progress for people who have a
learning disability.
The broadcasts are on Radio Scotland at 1.30pm on Thursdays,
repeated the following Sunday at 6am, then available on BBC
iPlayer for the next 7 days. The last in the series is this
Thursday.
Dundee University Research Request
A request and leaflets have been received
from “Ageing and Health” at Dundee
University, seeking participants for a study
"looking at falls and balance…seeking
people aged 65 years or over who have experienced
a fall in the past 12 months and sought medical
attention”.

District Youth Event
Information is available about this gathering at Dalguise
Perthshire from September 5th - 7th; two places will be reserved

Support other Organisations
Scottish Bible Society
Our support via the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in May for work in South Sudan.
Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
- contacts with refugees in Ethiopia and Bible Society work undertaken in Djibouti;
- successful distribution of 140,000 Bibles and New Testaments for migrant workers in the Gulf States, and also 10,000 Children's Bibles & 5,000 CDs;
- wide and effective use in Egypt of the new Arabic Van Dyck cross-reference Bible.
