Broughty Ferry Churches Group Christian Aid Soup Lunch

The weekly Soup Lunches in support of Christian Aid resume this Friday from 12 noon to 1pm in the YMCA, Brook Street, Broughty Ferry (almost opposite M&S Food). A choice of soups is offered, with bread and cheese, followed by tea or coffee, for which a minimum donation of £2 is requested. A warm welcome is extended to all to partake of the Soup Lunch and join in the warm table fellowship throughout the autumn and spring.

NB if you are a soup-maker and feel able to offer your skills (on an occasional basis) to add to those of Broughty Ferry churches folk, please contact David Easson or Kate Green.

St Margaret's Café

Lunches / afternoon teas are served in Barnhill St Margaret's hall on Wednesdays from 12.30 pm to 4pm.

Incorporation of Broughty Ferry into Dundee

As part of the Ferry's marking of the Centenary of its Incorporation into Dundee as from 4th November 1913

  • A United Service will be held on Sunday 3rd November at 6pm in Broughty New Kirk.
  • It is proposed that individual Ferry churches hold displays and “open days” in connection with the Centenary and that a “Church Trail” be publicised.
  • There will be a Public Lecture by Dr Chris Davey in St Marys' Episcopal Church.

Sunday 8th September 2013, 6.30pm Hamilton United Reformed Church, South Park Road, ML3 6PH National Racial Justice Sunday Service. The preacher will be the Rev Beatrice Musindi, Moderator of the CTBI's Racial Justice Network and the MECTIS (Minority Ethnic Christians Together in Scotland) choir will sing from 6pm. Scottish Bible Society

Our support via the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in September for work in Lebanon

Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to

  • Scripture distribution programmes in Lebanon to help migrant workers and put the Bible into the public sphere through politics and art;
  • distribution in Moldova to public libraries and needy people;
  • SBS current appeal to support the Bible Society programme in Ecuador for trauma healing for refugees;
  • Nicaragua Hope and Smiles project for children with cancer.
