General Church Meeting

We are all asked to note that the annual General Church Meeting will take place on Sunday 2nd June, with worship starting at 10.45am (ie instead of the June 'early singing'), followed by business from or shortly after 12 noon. This is a change of date from that originally considered.

Invitation to Anniversary Service: consultation

An invitation has been given by Meadowside St Paul's Church of Scotland to Dundee Methodist Church, to join the Anniversary Celebration worship in Meadowside St Paul's on Sunday 30th June.

They will be commemorating 30 years of the Union between the Meadowside and St Paul's church congregations and the 25th anniversary of the opening of the hall complex. There will be “a summer celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Communion at which the Very Rev Dr Finlay MacDonald (former Moderator of the General Assembly) will be preaching.” A finger buffet in the hall will follow the Service.

Acceptance of this invitation on behalf of ALL Dundee Methodists would mean no public worship in Marketgait that day, which is a “fifth Sunday” and therefore usually a Café Service. Church Council members are currently consulting as to the appropriate response to this invitation; please discuss this with and / or pass on any comments or thoughts to any member of the Church Council as soon as possible, to assist an informed and caring decision and reply to our friends and neighbours in Meadowside St Paul's.
