11 am
Worship led by Mrs Marcia Mackenzie

We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.

Church Carpets

Ernie Harrop and Dennis have worked on various carpets, which were in need of being “stretched, trimmed and adjusted”. We are extremely grateful for all the hard work this entailed, and it does mean that the sanctuary and stair carpets as well as several other sections should now better provide a measure of safety for church folk and outside users.

Sound System

Work was done on Thursday last week on improving and replacing certain aspects; more information soon.

Methodist Relief and Development Fund

Harvest envelopes are available for return in offering plates.

The Methodist Prayer Handbook for 2012-13

Copies (£3.15) and one large print edition (£3.50) on Vestibule table. Payment to Jenny or David Easson when convenient.

Worship Leaders Course

The course this weekend at Tulliallan will qualify those attending to be Worship Leaders within their own congregations, subject to the approval of their respective Church Councils. It is good that at least five people from this cir cuit were hoping to be present, including one of our own congregation in Marketgait.

“One Circuit” Resolution from Synod

At its recent meeting in Inverness, the District Synod passed a Resolution to agree the process for the “One Circuit” proposals, which have been under consideration since Spring 2010.

The working group's report, which came to Synod, is now being circulated for further and wider consultation through open meetings, church congregations and Councils. Votes will be at Circuit Meetings, prior to a formal vote at Spring Synod 2013.

To enable wide knowledge and discussion, Dundee Church Council encourages the use of

  • copies of the current Report (8 double-sided sheets) available on the Vestibule table - more will be photocopied if required
  • contacting of Synod Members for information, advice, to give feedback, share thinking.

Various ways of assisting in this consultation period may be offered:

  • A possible District Open Meeting on Saturday 20th October - date, venue and times still to be confirmed
  • a Sunday “Faith Lunch” in Marketgait for sharing of knowledge and thoughts.
