Olympic Torch Relay

As the Olympic Torch journeys through Britain, please remember that on Tuesday 12th June when it reaches Balbeggie (north of Scone) en route to Dundee via Perthshire & Fife, Maurice Paterson, one of our minibus escorts, will carry it. Please think of him and his family (dad Mike is one of our drivers) as they look forward to this exciting and important event in their lives (Jenny Easson, Link Club).

Methodist Homes

The theme of this year's Methodist Homes Sunday is “Because they are worth it” - the motivation which underpins all that MH does in seeking to support older people and their families.

MHA (Methodist Homes for the Aged) was founded in 1943 as “a better option for older people than the workhouse”.

In Scotland, there are sheltered housing schemes in East Kilbride, Granton Edinburgh, Arbroath (Gowan Park), & Milton Glasgow, and also a Retirement Village at Auchlochan, Lesmahagow.

Iris Baldry (Arbroath) has succeeded the late David Nicoll as the Circuit's MH contact person.

For general information, see www.mha.org.uk

Envelopes in support of the work of MH are available for return on or after next Sunday via the offering plate.
