19 February 2012
We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.
Elaine Roberts writes
“I received a letter that was from the Rev Mary Patterson stating that at a recent Worship Group Meeting it was decided not to have flowers in the Worship area for the season of Lent.
Therefore I have notified the people concerned and they have agreed to have other dates.
There however is still a vacant date on the 30th December.”
At Wednesday's Church Council, there was a decision not to hold a Christmas Day service in 2012 but instead, since 30th December is a “fifth Sunday”, to make this Café Service our main celebration of Christmas, enabling many more people to be involved than have recently attended Christmas Day services.
(Following what Elaine has said above, can we ensure a lovely supply of flowers for that special day!)
(Further info from the Church Council including news of Lent and Holy Week events will follow next week - David Easson)
5th February was the last day of this special week, but any further contributions to this appeal will be welcomed by the Treasurer, David Easson
