Dundee Methodist Church

15 April 2012

Next Sunday
22 April 2012

11 am
Worship led by the Rev Jean Murrie

We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.

Faith Lunch

After worship today there will be a Faith Lunch to which all are invited to remain for further conversation and fellowship with Lily (whom we are pleased to welcome to Dundee again) and among ourselves. There is usually plenty of food to share, with drinks provided so please stay even if you have not brought provisions yourself.

Easter Offerings

Donations in support of this work may be returned, via the envelopes available on the Vestibule table, through the offering plates during worship today or in the next weeks.

Easter Sunday flowers

Thanks are expressed to all who provided flowers for and / or assisted with the decoration of the Cross last Sunday. The decorated Cross remained in place until after the Link Club Easter Service on Wednesday.

Appreciation has also been particularly expressed for the arrangement by the hatch, illustrating “Now the Green Blade Riseth” (Hymn 204).

Hosting of Synod

Reminder that help is being sought during the Representative Session of Synod on Saturday 28th April in the Central Baptist Church premises, Ward Road, Dundee.

Please make contact with Sue Marshall-Jennings to assist with catering, Heather Dean for stewarding, and Mary Patterson for car-park supervision.

Youth President at Synod

Sam Taylor, the current Methodist Youth President has won the British Youth Council 'Make a Difference Award' for his work in this role. Sam will be at the Representative Session of Synod and leading a workshop: come and meet him there on Saturday 28th April!

'Scottish Methodists Together' Newsletter

The Spring 2012 edition is in course of distribution; please take a copy, read, and support whatever events you can. We are all invited to prayerfully uphold those planning and taking part in activities and discussion about the work of Methodists and the wider Church, in and beyond Scotland. This Newsletter is one way of helping us to undertake “informed prayer”.
