Rev David Firth
As today is the last occasion on which the Rev David
Firth is appointed to conduct our worship together in
Marketgait, we express our best wishes as he moves to
continue his ministry in Carlisle from September.
We assure him, Barbara & Eilidh of our continuing
prayerful support in this new phase of all their lives.

General Church Meeting - change of date
It has become necessary to alter the date of the annual
General Church Meeting because of an unavoidable change to
the Rev Mary Patterson's diary for Saturday 19th June.
The GCM will now be on Saturday 10th July from 10 am (coffee) to c 11.30 am.
Pastoral Committee meeting Points
At the recent meeting, the Committee
- remembered recently deceased Members;
- agreed Act of Dedication for Pastoral Visitors be requested for the Covenant Service (with consequent change to August Communion as printed on Plan - see last week's news-sheet);
- noted the (pending) vacancy for Baptismal Roll Secretary;
- discussed “Back to Church Sunday” for 26th September
- commended the idea of a “Welcome Pack” for distribution to new arrivals and visitors;
- agreed next meeting at 7 pm on 28th October.

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited for

Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
- resumption of work in CÔte d'Ivoire;
- work in the island of Ireland, including planned new initiatives in both Northern Ireland and the Republic;
- impact of A Biblia para Todos ('The Bible for All') in Portugal, also bi-centenary of Bible distribution.

Scottish Churches House Jubilee
Birthday Open Day on Saturday 17th July. This will begin with
a “Gathering” at 12.15 pm and conclude with a
Celebratory Act of Worship in Dunblane Cathedral at 5 pm,
with various events during the afternoon & refreshments
available. There is no charge but any “birthday
gifts” will go towards a House Programme Fund to set
up programme events and offer bursaries to individuals. All are invited, whether users and visitors often in the
House or those wishing to see round for the first time. |
