Thursday 26th November, 7.30 pm Dundee Methodist Church, “B” Fellowship Group; all are welcome to join in sharing insights, thoughts and conversation.
Friday 27th November, 12 noon - 1.30 pm YMCA 151 Brook Street, Broughty Ferry (opposite “M&S Food”) (map) Broughty Ferry Churches Group Christian Aid lunch. Soup - a good selection each week - is served with bread & cheese, followed by coffee for £2, in support of this ecumenical aid, relief and development charity. There is also opportunity for meeting old friends and making new ones. A warm welcome is extended to Ferry Folk, people popping out from Dundee, and other visitors.

Saturday 28th November, 10 am to 4 pm St Lukes’s & Queen Street Church, West Queen Street, Broughty Ferry Broughty Ferry Churches Group Quiet Day: calm activities, food, fellowship, time for reflection before the start of Advent.
Saturday 28th November, 10.30 am to 3.15 pm Cathedral Halls, Dunblane Ecumenical Forum - an open gathering. A particular invitation is given to anyone working in ecumenical situations or interested in the ecumenical relationships relating to the Methodist Church in Scotland. Scottish Churches House Prayer Network

Daily prayers are led at 9.00 - 9.15 am, with Network members particularly asked to join, if possible, on Wednesday mornings.

Prayers are invited for those in the House this week:

House Advent Retreat (Tuesday - Friday); United Reformed Church, Artists Way (Tuesday); Christian Meditation Scotland (Friday); hosting of a Wedding (next weekend).

Please also remember an important meeting of ACTS Trustees and SCH IMG members in Edinburgh at 5.30 pm on Wednesday.

Scottish Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in November for work in Mexico. See noticeboard for more information.

Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to

  • completion of the Dari Bible in Afghanistan, amid conditions of oppression, extremism and violence;
  • progress in the interconfessional Urdu Bible translation in Pakistan;
  • development of plans for Bible teaching in schools in Iran, the impact of the Persian Bible.
