“Pentecost Prayer Fair”
Broughty Ferry Churches Grou invites everyone to the BFCG Pentecost Prayer Fair today from 3 pm
to 4.30 pm in St Mary's Scottish Episcopal Church, Queen
Street, Broughty Ferry (map).
This is “A Presentation for the Birthday of the Christian Church” to which all
are welcome, with guests encouraged and expected.
There are to be prayer stations for all ages, including a Graffiti Wall &
Prayer Balloons with refreshments after.
This is to give opportunity for “time in God's company” (and with others)
- “stay as long as you wish”.

Invitation to a 60th Anniversary Commemoration
The Circuit's Preachers have pleasure in inviting the family and friends of Bill Easson to
join him and them in a short Act of Worship, including the presentation of a Long Service
Certificate, at 3.15 pm in Marketgait next Sunday. This is to mark his 60 years as a
“Methodist Local Preacher on Full Plan”.
Church Membership Conversation
Rev Mary Patterson has arranged a series of evenings for conversation
and exploration about Church Membership in Methodism on Thursdays 9th, 16th,
23rd and 30th July. Anyone interested in becoming a Member or in refreshing their
understanding of Membership is asked to contact Mary so that a venue and time can be agreed.
Methodist Emergency Appeal for Sri Lanka
Our attention has been drawn to and support requested for this Appeal
to support the Fund for World Mission in assisting partner churches in Sri
Lanka, where an official announcement of the end of almost 30 years of
civil war has recently been made.
The Methodist Church in GB has sent £35,000 to local churches
to assist with the ever-growing humanitarian crisis: the demand continues
to grow.
Donations may be made to The Fundraising Coordinator, FWM,
25 Marylebone Road, London NW1 5JR, quoting ref. SR59.

Support other Organisations
Scottish Bible Society
Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in June
for work in Tanzania, especially in the north-west area of Kagera,
which has been badly hit by AIDS / HIV. See library area noticeboard
for more information. Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
- use of “Good Samaritan” resource package in Tanzania;
- good attendance at 'Year of the Bible' events in Bulgaria, also distribution of Scriptures among orphans, prisoners and handicapped people;
- 'Reaching Students and Youth' Project in Poland, also progress of work on inter-church translation of the Bible;
- material aimed at soldiers, prisoners and young people in the Czech Republic;
- increased awareness of Bible Society work in Slovakia.
