Mothering Sunday worship

As Jenni Whittle may not now be able to lead worship next Sunday, Jenny Easson has agreed to the request that she do so.

Participation in worship

Jenny Easson would be pleased to hear from anyone willing to

  • read Scripture or other material on a regular basis in Sunday worship
  • take a (small) spoken part in All-age worship at 11 am on Easter Sunday, 12th April.

Friday 20th March, 12 noon - 1.30 pm YMCA 151 Brook Street, Broughty Ferry (opposite “M&S Food”) (map) Broughty Ferry Churches Group Christian Aid lunch. The weekly lunch (£2) comprises a choice of home-made soups, bread & coffee, plus conversation with friends 'old and new'.
Saturday 21st March 1 pm St Paul's Cathedral, 1 High Street, Dundee “Music at St Paul's Cathedral”. Lunchtime concert given by Jonathan Kightley (viola) and Blair Cargill (piano), including music by Bach & Schubert. Tickets (£3.50 / 2.50) at the door, tea/coffee served after.
Saturday 21st March 7.30 pm Younger Hall, North Street, St Andrews (map) St Andrews Chorus will give a performance of Bach's “St John Passion”. Tickets (£9, £7 concessions, £3 students,) at the door.

Support other Organisations

Scottish Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in March for work in Mali. See library area noticeboard for more information. Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to

  • challenge presented to the United Bible Societies by population movement - 4 million alone from Iraq and other millions from Africa;
  • response to new inter-confessional translations in Portuguese and launch of new inter-confessional translation in Spain;
  • launches of new 'common language' Bible and new official Roman Catholic Bible in Italy.
