Support other Organisations

Scottish Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in January for work in Georgia, especially with young people. See noticeboard for more information. Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to

  • completion of several Bible translations in Kenya;
  • plans to produce a Children's Bible in the Somali and Maimai languages in Somalia;
  • distribution of 5000 Masai Bibles in Tanzania.

Scottish Churches House Prayer Network

Daily prayers are led at 9.00 - 9.15 am, with Network members particularly asked to join, if possible, on Wednesday mornings. Prayers are invited this week for the New Wine House Party over Hogmanay.

Prayer Points for this week

  • the President of Conference visiting Ghana;
  • the Vice-President of Conference visiting Uganda;
  • schemes, residents and staff in Wales (Methodist Homes);
  • start of the “hunger season” in Zimbabwe (Christian Aid);
  • Cedar Home outside Beirut, caring in a loving family environment for girls aged between 3 and 18, also providing support for 30 local children who live with their own families (BibleLands);
  • The Leprosy Mission's work in north central India;
  • Bible Society work in Bangladesh and in Georgia;
  • we pray with and for the peoples of Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, & Syria (WCC Prayer Calendar);
  • we remember fellow Methodists in Llanelli and Carmarthen (S Wales) and all in Mosspark Local Ecumenical Partnership (Glasgow Circuit).
