“Circuit Thinking Day”

This important opportunity to consider the way ahead for the life of our Circuit and its 5 Churches will be on Saturday 25th April in Marketgait from 10 am (formal start at 10.30 am) to 12.30 pm, with light lunch to follow (soup, sandwiches, & drinks provided). EVERYONE'S shared thinking and exploring of ideas is being strongly encouraged under the guidance of Sally Robertson (Regional Learning & Development Officer, North). It cannot be emphasised too strongly how important it is for as many people as possible to come and contribute.

Friday 24th April, 7.30 pm St Paul's Cathedral, 1 High Street, Dundee “Talking Around Paul” - The third in the series of lectures in St Paul's Cathedral; the Rt Rev Stephen Cottrell (Bishop of Reading) will speak on “Talking around Mission”. Admission is free and refreshments will be served after.

Support other Organisations

Scottish Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in April for work in Haiti. See library area noticeboard for more information. Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to

  • opportunities opening up for work in Turkey where the Christian community is very small;
  • participation by the Bible Society of Jordan in 20 local bookfairs this year;
  • large-scale distribution programmes in Syria where a new resource centre has opened in Damascus;
  • SBS Finance Committee meeting on Friday.

Saturday 13th June, 10 am to 4 pm National Christian Outreach Centre, Riggs Road, Perth “Turning the Church on its head”. This “District Event for Everyone” is a successor to previous 'Resourcing' and 'Networking Days'. The facilitator will be the Rev Barbara Glasson (of “Fresh Expressions” 'Bread Church - Somewhere Else'. Those who know Barbara (ie Revs Lily Twist & David Firth) or have experienced her leadership ('tricia & Sandy and David E as delegates to Conference in Blackpool 2007) are enthusiastic about who she is and what she does. It sounds like a stimulating day in the company of others -start making plans to be there!  
Sunday 28th June, 7.30 pm Caird Hall (map) “In Christ Alone”, a musical celebration of the life of Christ, featuring Keith & Kristyn Getty, special guest Stuart Townend, and the Dundee Gospel Choir and Orchestra. See leaflets on Vestibule table for information.
