Dundee Methodist Church

9 November 2008

Next Sunday: 16 November 2008 - Prisons Week

11 am
Worship conducted by Mr Keith Pearson

We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.

“Fifth Sunday” - Café style Worship, followed by Lunch

Our worship on Sunday 30th November is being prepared by Julya Walsh who will be grateful to know of people interested in taking part. Please make this known through Jenny, joint Dundee coordinator with 'tricia. The Church Council also suggested that, to give further opportunity to develop our fellowship and give time to get to know each other (even!) better, the café-style setting be continued into lunch. The Worship Group, to whom further thought was remitted by the Council, agreed that this could give time to share thinking on points arising during worship and proposed that, on this occasion, a “bring food to share” approach be taken, with drinks to be provided.

UNICEF “Jars of Grace” Appeal

'Jars of Grace' are still available today for return on or after next Sunday. As described on the accompanying leaflet, we are invited to make a small contribution to the Jar at meal (or other) times to support work on the theme of “Children in Emergency”, especially in Bangladesh, Burma / Myanmar, China, Ethiopia, and Somalia ('the forgotten emergency').

Disabled Persons' Parking Places (Scotland) Bill

We have been asked by Margaret Broster, former Secretary of the World Day of Prayer Scottish Committee, to assist in promoting support for this Bill, through signature of postcards. A supply is on the Vestibule table - please take, complete, & post. The Bill is a Members Bill introduced at Holyrood by Jackie Baillie MSP.
