“Doors Open” Invitation from Heather
Heather's new house in Freuchie will be open to link with “Doors Open Fife” on
Sunday 9th September. Please 'pop in during the afternoon until 5 pm to see this venture in
“green” construction'. See also leaflet on table. (Heather also advises us that
there will be other opportunities to come and see her new home!)

Harvest Celebration
- FairTrade Coffee Morning next Saturday from 10.30 am to 12 noon.
Offers of help, including home baking of 'FairTrade scones and fruit
loaves', to 'tricia. Suggested donation
to Methodist Relief and Development Fund - £1.50.
- Worship next Sunday including 'litany of offerings by congregation'
during which envelopes for donations in support of MRDF will be brought
forward. Please note that MRDF envelopes are being distributed today.

Charles Wesley 300th Birthday Anniversary
Perth Flower Festival Weekend
21st - 23rd September
Our friends in Perth Methodist Church, Scott Street
are marking the above anniversary by a Flower Festival in which everyone
is welcome to join - as often as wished!

- In support of project in Namibia where Barry & Chris Parkin
(long-standing Perth members) are starting 2 years of service with VSO
(Barry will be teaching in Caprivi Secondary School).

Rev Prof Frank Whaling will speak of Charles Wesley as a person
and hymn-writer; opportunity for questions and “cuppa”
after.
- East Fife Male Voice Choir - Saturday - 7.30 pm

- Harvest Thanksgiving - Sunday - 11 am, led by the Rev David Firth
and the Rev David Cooper (Superintendent, Edinburgh & Forth Circuit)
- Charles Wesley Epilogue - Sunday - 4 pm - a half hour of praise and
thanksgiving as the Flower Festival draws to a close.

Support other Organisations
Scottish Bible Society
Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in September for work in Nepal. See library area noticeboard for more details.
Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to:
- completion of the Arabic Study New Testament in Egypt, also land donated for a central warehouse, project to distribute 150,000 Children's Bibles;
- recent production of the first Bible in Maltese Braille;
- launch of the first complete Bible in an Australian indigenous language (Kriol);
- need for freedom to import sufficient Scriptures to meet demand in Morocco, also printing programmes and distribution work.
