Cleaning

From tomorrow, Liz Thom will be employed as our cleaner; she will be on the premises each week for about 4 hours on Monday afternoons. Please note this for possible bookings then.

Rotary Shoe Box Scheme - collection time!

Alan Suttie requests that filled boxes are brought to Marketgait and left under the Vestibule table for collection by himself next Sunday.

Young people / children Meeting

A meeting will be held at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 13th November in Marketgait. The purpose is to continue discussions, started at a previous meeting on 13th August, about how best to meet the needs of all the youngsters in our church. EVERYONE who has an interest in this, or has some ideas to contribute, is very welcome to attend. If you can't be there, contact Rev Mary Patterson, Lorna or Margaret.

Wednesday 7th November, 7 pm to 9 pm Meadowside St Paul’s Church Hall(map) A “Christian - Muslim Conversation”. Organised by Churches Agency for Interfaith Relations in Scotland (CAIRS) in association with meem consultancy. All are welcome. This is part of a series of meetings throughout Scotland, especially for Christians who have had little or no experience of meeting with Muslims. The programme will include a basic public dialogue between a Christian (Andrew Sarle - the Interfaith Education Officer for ACTS) and a Muslim (Na'eem Raza). Light refreshments will be available, with opportunity for continued fellowship and informal conversation. See noticeboard for further details.

Support other Organisations

Scottish Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in November for work in the Dominican Republic. See library area noticeboard for more details.

Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to:

  • completion of the Kinyarwanda Children's Bible in Rwanda, funding of printing; also production of study Bible to help rural pastors;
  • relationships between Bible Society and the churches as peace returns to Burundi;
  • annual conference of SBS speakers and Area Organisers next weekend in Carberry, Musselburgh.
