by Grahame Lockhart & Jean Murrie in the context of worship, shared
faith lunch, and further conversation after. Everyone is welcome to
worship, lunch, and time of exploring together. The next session will
be on Sunday 27th May.
Solomon Islands Tsunami Appeal
The Methodist Church in Great Britain is inviting donations to
support relief work following the recent earthquake and tsunami in
the Solomon Islands. An opportunity to contribute is offered through
a retiring collection today. Donations payable to “Fund for
World Mission” may also be sent direct to Chris Elliot, World
Church Office, Methodist Church House, 25 Marylebone Road, London, NW1
5JR, marked “Solomon Tsunami”. See information on display.
“Prayer Times in May Time”
The Worship Group and Church Council continue to consider ways of
continuing the impact of last year's Pray Without Ceasing Initiative.
The lighting of the candle at the start of worship follows practice from
our Circuit's 'PWC Week' and a suggestion has been made at Pastoral
Committee of a further leaflet for distribution particularly to those
who are housebound.
Opportunities for praying & meditating together outwith Sunday
worship during May in Marketgait are
- Thursday 17th May (Ascension Day) - afternoon
- Thursday 24th May (Wesley Day) - evening.
Anyone interested in preparing or taking part is asked to contact 'tricia soon!
