We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.
Growing From the Inside Out
The final session will be led today by Grahame Lockhart
and Jean Murrie. Conversation will again continue over a faith lunch to which all are welcome (whether you have been at previous sessions or not!) and will conclude with a shared Act of Commitment.
Crèche Rota
Provision of crèche facilities is requested over the summer months. Please let Louisa know as soon as possible if you can help with this - as a 'regular rota person' or as an 'extra help for the summer'!
General Church Meeting
Last week's Meeting's formal business:
- Appointments of Church Stewards, Representatives to Church Council and Bookings Secretary were agreed, effective from 1st September :
- Warm thanks were expressed to those demitting office.
- Reports were received from the Senior Church Steward, Church Treasurer, and Property Convener.
Worship Group
At the recent meeting, those present
- discussed the two 'PrayerTimes in MayTime' and agreed that
- despite numerically small support, they were appreciated by those attending
- they provided continuing focus for shared prayer outwith Sunday worship
- they gave important reminder of the need for communal prayer to underpin ALL aspects of Church life
- 'prayer opportunities' be offered where possible when marking
Church seasons and dates (eg Harvest, World AIDS Day);
- expressed thanks for the provision and use of the Pray Without Ceasing and subsequent candles on the Communion Table, and discussed their regular lighting in Sunday worship and the marking of the church year;
- agreed that there be no formal Children's Group during the summer months (“activity boards” supplied), and requested the continuation of crèche facilities;
- considered forthcoming dates for the Plan :
- Covenant Service - 2nd September
- Harvest - 16th September
- NCH (October) & JMA awards (September) remitted to Service & Mission Committee;
- expressed gratitude to all those who provide the window display & pictures in the “B” room, then discussed future window themes - it was noted that DundeeforChrist had sent written appreciation to the Rev David Firth of the 'Easter Window' (with Easter Eggs by the Children's' Group);
- fixed date of next meeting - 21st August at 7.30 pm.

Concert for Scottish Bible Society
work in Romania. Music will be provided by the Dundee Lyric Singers and
the Tonner Brass Ensemble. Programmes £5 at the door.
The concert has been organised “so that the Romanians
know through the Bible Society that there are others who care.”

Circuit day out hosted by Arbroath and Blairgowrie churches.
There will be a “Pot Luck Lunch” please bring contributions for both savoury and sweet tables
(a change to previously advertised arrangements), then “fun and games” before
tea in the afternoon.
We are invited to bring
- ourselves - families - friends
- picnic rug or chair to sit on (if possible)
- donation for 'cake & pudding table'.
A nominal charge will be made to cover the barbecue costs, but drinks
& 'cake & pudding' will be free to everyone.

from Dundee”, including a group from the Link Club as one of their
“summer outings”.

Bible Society
Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in June for work in Albania. See library area noticeboard.
Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to :
- ecumenical Bible translation project in Slovakia
- planning for Children's Bible in the Czech Republic
- distribution of Scriptures to prisoners and refugees by a small team of workers in Austria
- material and programmes addressing drug addiction problems in China
- translation of the Old Testament into Uzbek and Karakalpak, also easing of import restrictions in Uzbekistan.
