Road Works

The current excavation works affecting Marketgait and Long Wynd are expected to last for some 6 weeks from their start on 25th June.

Dundee Partnership Community Awards

Notice has been received of these awards, supported by the Evening Telegraph, for which nominations are invited. The awards recognise groups and organisations, which “are making a real difference to the lives of people in Dundee and the communities in which they live and work.”

Details are available on the Vestibule table; the date for submission of nominations is Friday 31st August.

Support other Organisations

Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in July for work in Bolivia, including distribution to students and teachers in schools in La Paz and Cochabamba. See library area noticeboard.

Our prayerful attention is drawn in coming weeks to

  • outreach to visitors to churches in Scotland and through the tourist industry generally
  • appointment of a new General Secretary and Board Chair in Slovenia, also new publications linked with The Year of the Bible
  • expected availability of the New Testament (Revised Chinese Union Version) in Singapore
  • distribution of free Scriptures to children in hospitals in Croatia
  • provision of material at affordable prices in Bosnia-Herzegovina
  • search for new ways of working by Bible Society in Serbia / Montenegro.

Sunday 13th August, 3 pm St John's Methodist Church, 15 Ponderlaw, Arbroath (map) “Songs of Praise Service” to celebrate the tercentenary of the birth of Charles Wesley (1707-1788). Afterwards, “there will be plentiful refreshments available in the hall for us all to enjoy”. Please note this date now and support it if possible - the Arbroath congregation are looking forward to welcoming us to St John's!
