Pastoral cover

Ministerial pastoral care for the whole the Circuit to Monday 9th June is by the Rev David Firth and from Tuesday to Monday 23rd July by the Rev Mary Patterson. The Church Pastoral Secretary will be in Blackpool during Conference (ends Thursday 12th July).

Bookings

Please note that Liz has now taken over from Norah as Bookings Secretary. She should be contacted about all use of our premises .

Road Works

The current excavation works affecting Marketgait and Long Wynd are expected to last for some 6 weeks from their start on 25th June.

Dundee Partnership Community Awards

Notice has been received of these awards, supported by the Evening Telegraph, for which nominations are invited. The awards recognise groups and organisations, which “are making a real difference to the lives of people in Dundee and the communities in which they live and work.”

Details are available on the Vestibule table; the date for submission of nominations is Friday 31st August.

Support other Organisations

Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in July for work in Bolivia, including distribution to students and teachers in schools in La Paz and Cochabamba. See library area noticeboard.

Our prayerful attention is drawn in coming weeks to

  • preparation of Scripture in alternative formats for special audiences, eg Braille audio, radio programmes
  • staff working despite restrictions on organised Bible work in the Maldives
  • special outreach to the elderly in Sri Lanka
  • SBS presence at 'Clan Gathering' in St Andrews on Saturday 14th July
  • translation projects in Bangladesh

Sunday 13th August, 3 pm St John's Methodist Church, 15 Ponderlaw, Arbroath (map) “Songs of Praise Service” to celebrate the tercentenary of the birth of Charles Wesley (1707-1788). Afterwards, “there will be plentiful refreshments available in the hall for us all to enjoy”. Please note this date now and support it if possible - the Arbroath congregation are looking forward to welcoming us to St John's!
