Solomon Islands Tsunami Appeal
The Methodist Church in Great Britain is inviting donations to support relief work following the fervent earthquake & tsunami in the Solomon Islands. An opportunity to contribute will be offered through a retiring collection next Sunday. Donations payable to “Fund for World Mission” may also be sent direct to Chris Elliot, World Church Office, Methodist Church House, 25 Marylebone Road, London, NW1 5JR, marked “Solomon Tsunami”.

Envelopes for contributions to this annual Appeal are available for return in the collection plate today or the next few weeks. Our support is warmly invited.
Church Council
At the meeting on Thursday, members undertook initial consideration
of a proposal for joint development on the sites of our premises and
those of Autorent next-door. It is intended that fuller details will
be brought for discussion at the General Church Meeting on Sunday 10th June.

As preparation for those going to Sibiu and for wider
interest, ACTS is organizing a series of Seminars on the Ecumenical
Movement, looking at major traditions in Christianity.

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in April for work in China. See library area noticeboard.
Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
- translation of the New Testament soon to be published in Togo & other translation projects there;
- post-election government in Benin, also fundraising and effective distribution;
- new distribution vehicle in Niger, contacts with people of other faiths;
- programmes for youth work in Nigeria;
- technical changes being made to BibleWorld Experience.
