Easter Offerings

Envelopes for contributions to this annual Appeal are available today, for return in the collection plate on Easter Sunday and following weeks. The money is channelled via Methodist Women's Network into the Fund for World Mission, which helps to support

  • Mission Partners working overseas
  • The Mission in Britain programme
  • Nationals in Mission appointments
  • overseas students in ministry training
  • grants to partner churches and special projects.

Our support is warmly invited.

Church Council

Rev Mary Patterson requests Council members to note that there will be an Extraordinary Council Meeting on Thursday 19th April at 7.30 pm with a single item agenda.

Stairchair

Please note - and let others know - that, because a replacement part for the stairchair is still awaited (from outside Dundee), the chair will continue to be out of use until further notice.

Worship Group change of date

Please note that the Worship Group's next meeting will be on Thursday 7th June and not 31st May as previously arranged.

Scottish Bible Society

Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in April for work in China. See library area noticeboard.

Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to :

  • Bible Society ministry in India to illiterate and semi-literate people, through Radio Bible and other audio-Scriptures in 20 languages;
  • use of Faith Comes by Hearing cassette in Zambia, also new HIV / AIDS awareness programme;
  • opportunities to distribute Scriptures in new areas in Angola, also acquisition of land on which to build Bible House;
  • newly-launched Sena Bible and Tumbuka audio New Testament in Malawi, also 4 translation projects;
  • launch of the Sar Bible and Gulay New Testament in Chad.

As preparation for those going to Sibiu and for wider interest, ACTS is organizing a series of Seminars on the Ecumenical Movement, looking at major traditions in Christianity. An Introduction to the Lutheran Tradition.
