We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.

FairTrade Fortnight

Look for FairTrade displays in schools, colleges, foyer of “Number Ten” Constitution Road, and elsewhere in the city.

Dundee became Scotland's first FairTrade City (simultaneously with Aberdeen) in March 2004. As this title is retained on an annual basis, progress is needed towards the 5 set goals; this is being coordinated by Dundee FairTrade Forum, which includes representatives of groups in the voluntary sector, faith communities, universities, Traidcraft, and The One World Centre. For details of the Forum contact Anne Gammack or Sally Romilly at The One World Centre (454603).

Trade Justice

There will be a display of Trade Justice leaflets, posters, cuttings, etc, in the church next Sunday when we are all encouraged to examine the display, and send a brief letter (suggestions provided) to the Prime Minister on the issue. Items for the display are to be assembled and mounted today after worship.

Lent Worship

On Wednesday 15th March Methodists and St Luke's & Queen Street will lead worship at 7.30 pm on a theme from “Easter People in a Good Friday World” - Ferry Methodists please contact Jenny or David to offer help in preparing this with St Luke's.

Rotas for Counters, Coffee-makers and Door Stewards

Please collect your rota from the Vestibule table. It is helpful if any “swaps” are marked on the appropriate sheets in the office and library area. The Church Stewards take this opportunity to thank all those who help week by week by welcoming our congregation, providing tea and coffee, and assisting with the collection.

Preaching Plans

Plans for March - May are now on the Vestibule table.

Support other Organisations

Scottish Bible Society

  • Our support for work through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in March for Cameroon where the literacy rate is roughly 60%, but the ability to read drops to a much lower percentage in rural areas. Illustrated Scripture booklets with simplified text help new readers develop skill as well as telling the Good News. See library are noticeboard for more details.
  • Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
    • volunteers working in BibleWorld, Action Groups, and general administration;
    • the Bible Society in Ecuador in a time of political and social crisis;
    • launch in Bolivia of the New Testament in Chipaya and Ignaciano, also publication of Guarayo and Chiquitano Bible Dictionaries;
    • impact on youngsters of the Dutch 'Arkventure Bible Xplorer' in Antwerp, Belgium.
