We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.

Children's Group Request

In order to meet child protection regulations, two adults are needed when the Children's Group goes downstairs. Until now, the “second adult”, has been found by personal approaches, week by week, by Lorna and Margaret. Recently, it has sometimes proved more difficult to find someone to accompany the Group; it has therefore been decided to try producing a rota of helpers.

If you would consider joining this rota, please take a sheet from the Vestibule table, complete, and return it to either Lorna or Margaret.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Rotas for Counters, Coffee-makers and Door Stewards

Please collect your rota from the Vestibule table. It is helpful if any “swaps” are marked on the appropriate sheets in the office and library area. The Church Stewards take this opportunity to thank all those who help week by week by welcoming our congregation, providing tea and coffee, and assisting with the collection.

Lent Worship

  • On Wednesday 15th March Methodists are partnered with St Luke's & Queen Street, Broughty Ferry, in leading worship there at 7.30 pm on a theme from “Easter People in a Good Friday World” - Ferry Methodists are asked to contact Jenny to help in preparing this with St Luke's.
  • Dundee City Centre Churches will meet on Tuesdays from 7th March at 7.30 pm in Meadowside St Paul's, using “Life Balance” by Robert Warren & Sue Mayfield (Wesley Owen, £3.99).

Meetings this week

Date & timeVenueDetails
Wednesday 22nd February, 7 pm to 10 pm Dundee University Chapel (building 21 on campus map) “Walking the Labyrinth”, a peaceful experience encouraging slow walking and letting go of everyday concerns, has become more popular over recent years. The Labyrinth Tapestry in Dundee University Chapel (a replica of one laid down in Chartres Cathedral c 1194-1220) contains a path upon which opportunity to walk is given once a month. No charge is made but a donation of a perfumed candle will be appreciated since these are placed round the tapestry perimeter. A slow-paced walk usually takes between 40 minutes and an hour. See leaflets on table; contact Nick Halpin 01337 870242, nickhalpin@lineone.net
Saturday 25th February, 10 am - 2.30 pm Dundee Methodist Church Circuit Forum - “open consultation”. The main aim of the Forum is to look at the present way of “Team Ministry” working; the programme will include particular opportunities to talk together about “worship” and “pastoral care”, followed by conversation about the way ahead for the Circuit and its five congregations. An outline programme is available on the Vestibule table.
Lunch will be provided at 1 pm.Keith & Jenny (as Circuit Leadership Team members) will be contacting those who have kindly offered help with catering. It is important that as many people as possible from each church meet together, to share thinking and provide guidance for the March Circuit Meeting.
