Circuit Prayer Workshop
A warm invitation is given to everyone to meet with friends from our own congregation
and others in the Circuit in Marketgait from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm on Saturday 29th April.
Leaflets are on the Vestibule table, giving an outline of the programme, which,
it is hoped, will help us to explore and enrich our prayer life in private and in public
. Please let Jenny or 'tricia know if you hope to come - to give an idea of numbers.
The Workshop proposal arose from a District event some time ago, but happily now falls within the
Pray Without Ceasing initiative being followed throughout the Connexion. Scotland District will
be the focus during the week August 11th- 18th with our own Circuit allocated responsibility for
Thursday 17th August. The Circuit Leadership Team has been asked by the Circuit Meeting to
coordinate 'our day'.

“Walking the Labyrinth”, a peaceful experience encouraging slow walking
and letting go of everyday concerns, has become more popular over recent years. The Labyrinth
Tapestry in Dundee University Chapel (a replica of one laid down in Chartres Cathedral c 1194-1220)
contains a path upon which opportunity to walk is given once a month.
No charge is made but a donation of a perfumed candle will be appreciated since
these are placed round the tapestry perimeter. A slow-paced walk usually
takes between 40 minutes and an hour. See leaflets on table; contact Nick Halpin 01337 870242,

Support other Organisations
Scottish Bible Society
- Our support through the Bible-a-Month Club is invited in April for work in Palestine where work continues in practical ways among difficult conditions of poverty, disease and constant conflict. Each month a team of 13 delivers relief packages to around 300 families in some of the most deprived neighbourhoods. See library area noticeboard.
- Our prayerful attention is drawn this week to
- safety of staff in Iraq, cooperating with churches and other Christian agencies in supplying Scriptures and practical help;
- Arabic publishing and distribution work in Lebanon amidst periodic bombings, also Bible World exhibition and Books for Life resource centre;
- distribution work in remote areas of Syria, planned replacement of New Testaments in schools;
- freedom to continue Bible Society work in Israel, safety of staff and families, increased monetary support and bookshop sales;
