30 October 2005
We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.
Conference in Edinburgh 2006 : “Our Methodist Identity”
Rev Angy Long (Glasgow Circuit) is inviting us to take the opportunity of co-hosting Conference next year to reflect on what it means to be Methodists in Scotland. She has prepared a (simple) questionnaire and would appreciate as many returns as possible. Copies are being distributed today - please take & complete as best you can, then return via the box on the Vestibule table (in a sealed envelope if you wish) or post direct to Angy if you prefer. Thanks!!
Link Club - Volunteer Minibus Escort
The Link Club urgently needs to recruit a minibus escort for the Wednesday
morning session of the Club. We cannot run the bus without an escort who accompanies
the driver around the city, collecting Club members, bringing them to Marketgait, and
then taking them home at lunchtime. This is an important and enjoyable role within the
Club - can you help us or do you know someone who might be interested? More information
from Lorna, or speak to any Club helper.
Pastoral Committee
At the meeting on Wednesday, members
- undertook the Annual Reading of the Membership List
- agreed the figures for return on the Annual Schedule at 1.11.06 : membership total is 85 (as last year)
- gave thought to material for possible use in a “small group”, noting copies of the 'Time to Talk of God' report have been ordered on a Circuit basis
- Jenny will attend the Training Day on November 12th in Dunblane
- agreed next meeting on Wednesday 19th April 2006
