We give the assurance of our thoughts and prayers to all who are unwell, awaiting or undergoing treatment, or anxious or grieving for the loss of loved ones.

Church Council points

The Council met on Wednesday; please note the following

  • Appointments
    • a Church Steward is to be nominated from among themselves to attend Circuit Meeting
    • Heather was appointed as a second Council rep to the Circuit Meeting
    • filling of the vacancies for Church representatives to the Council is in progress
  • Finance and Property
    • Fire safety - measures, equipment
    • Communion Offering in July for Samaritans, Dundee and in November, Earl Haig Fund
    • Financial statement given - Council happy with current position
  • Pastoral
    • “Pray without Ceasing” contact - ’tricia
  • Safeguarding
    • Ian G & David Firth have both attended meetings - discerning of persons required to complete forms & / or obtain disclosures is in progress and will be followed up in a suggested timetable
  • Service & Mission
    • thanks expressed for support of Mission in Britain and Fund for World Mission through “coffee-after-church” donations
    • support for Traidcraft sales much appreciated
    • planning for Harvest worship (Sunday 25th September) and an autumn “Trade Justice Event” at S&M meeting next week
  • Worship Group date of next meeting - Tuesday 2nd November, 7.30 pm
  • Next proposed date for Council - Wednesday 28th September at 7.30 pm – to be confirmed.

Display Boards

A set has been purchased for use on our premises – for specific or general displays, in worship, etc. They are in their own carrying-case and are stored in the upstairs office.

Sunday 3rd July, 3 pm Dunblane Cathedral (map) Ecumenical Service, in connection with the G8 Summit at Gleneagles, speaker - Dr Daleep Mukarji, Director of Christian Aid. G8 Create Art competition

Our City Centre colleagues at The Steeple Church are holding the above competition, generously sponsored by the Overgate. There will be a public exhibition of selected entries in The Steeple and the Overgate, from Monday 4th July.

FACT!

In 2002-3 the UK spent just 0.3 per cent of national income in aid. If the UK met the 0.7 per cent target by 2008, an extra 1.5 million people could be lifted out of poverty that year.
