Envelopes in support of this annual Appeal are still available, for return via the offering plate today and in the next few weeks.

Support other Organisations

Scottish Bible Society

In April our support is invited for work in Pakistan, a Muslim country, where festivals or melas are used as opportunities to share God’s Word – see library area noticeboard.

In these weeks our prayerful attention is drawn particularly to

  • newly-published New Testament and ‘Christian ABC’ in Belarus;
  • work with Armenian young people;
  • work in Georgia, where a new Government has been installed;
  • the young Bible Society in Romania, working with people with particular needs;
  • work with churches in Greece and Bulgaria, especially for staff involved in distribution;
  • the long and supportive relationship in Scotland (and elsewhere) with the World Day of Prayer movement, as WDP Scotland marks its 75th anniversary with celebrations in April;

Wednesday 4th May Visit of the President and Vice-President of Conference : The Rev Will Morrey and Deacon Myrtle Poxon will be in Scotland and Shetland in late April / early May. The Circuit Meeting agreed to extend an invitation to visit this Circuit as part of their District visit. Planning for this is at an initial stage, but please note the date now.

God, in your Grace, Transform the World : looking to the theme of the World Council of Churches 9th Assembly in Brazil in 2006, led by the Rev Alan Falconer, former Director of WCC Faith and Order Commission.   • development plans of the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology (Feed The Minds);
  • The Leprosy Missionšs work in India - Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, and in Guinea & Nigeria;
  • Bible Society work in Pakistan;
  • we pray with and for the peoples of Kenya and Tanzania, and of Madagascar, Malawi, and Zambia;
  • we remember fellow Methodists in the Totnes Circuit (Plymouth & Exeter District) and in Leith (Edinburgh & Forth Circuit).
